HOW DO YOU SCRUB UP

Good Afternoon! It's been a very busy week with many coursework deadlines coming up next week, though I did manage to bag myself a new job hooray! Today's post will entail how I scrub up, literally - from what I wash my hair with to what put on my feet. Hope you enjoy a bit of a different post!

What I eat: I thought I'd pop in a little snap of my breakfast this morning, ready for a full day of hard work... Or procrastinating, who knows?! This is a little concoction of trail mix, granola and chia seeds with some natural yoghurt. YUM. How pretty is my bowl though, who needs a boyfriend when you have heart bowls...

What I wash my hair with: I wanted to try something different in my hair as recently I've noticed my scalp becoming dry and nobody wants to suffer with the dreaded dandruff so I looked at some reviews and saw this Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo from The Body Shop was meant to be a great deterrent and it's done me well! My scalp feels as fresh as ever and it gives your hair a great scrub as it lathers up really well. The Banana Conditioner just kinda caught my eye as I thought it looked really cool and this works really well with the Shampoo. Thumbs up. This Philip Kingsley Elasticizer was recommended to me by a few people so I thought I'd give it a go, it is a pre-shampoo so you can use all three of these products together to make your hair look absolutely beautiful, it adds plenty of bounce and shine leaving your hair looking healthy as ever.

What I brush my hair with: Tangle Teezers are life! Like how I even managed without one of these is beyond me, I opted for this gorgeous lime green and pink one from Asos about a year ago and it has been my saviour ever since. I've also got my eye on the new Lulu Guinness one, a designer hairbrush... YES please!

What I wash with: Currently I am using Original Source's Vanilla and Raspberry Shower Gel which is an absolute heaven send, it smells b-e-a-u-tiful. However I figured a nearly empty bottle didn't really do it justice so I haven't included a picture, I've linked it so you can check it out! I also looove Lush's Snow Fairy range and this shower gel smells gorgeous, plus it's soooo pretty. Unfortunately though, this is a festive special so you're gonna have to stock up next Christmas ladies. ;) The Body Shop box set was a Christmas Gift which I still haven't had the pleasure of using, but strawberry is my favourite flavour of scents in there and I know I'm gonna totally love it! You can still buy all these products separately here.

What I use on my face: Tea tree is perfect for me when my face is starting to become a bit oily and blemished. Firstly I use the scrub with this little facial brush from Body Shop to clear my skin and then I gently wipe over a cotton pad with some of this toner - leaves your skin feeling fresh and fabulous! If I'm not using the exfoliator before hand I use this lovely Creme de le mar cleansing lotion which is great at removing every last bit of makeup and its soothing formula leaves the skin feeling soft and cleansed.

What I wear on my feet: I had to include these super cute socks which I received as a gift from Monk,  I pop these on whenever my tootsies are feeling a bit chilly and need warming up, you can get them in Claire's Accessories!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Going to try and start posting every Sunday, have a great week and pop in the comments box any products that you love using, I'd love too see how you guys scrub up!

Thank you for reading! xxxxxx

DO YOU EVEN BLOG THO?

Sooo it's been a long time since we last posted anything on here and it's safe to say a post is well due! We've been busy to our eyelids and we've been putting blogging off for a while due to this so we're sorry for the delay!

It's a sunny Sunday so we figured why not write up a little post. Crystal came to visit me in London last week so I thought I'd share the experience as we had sooo much fun!!

For a while now we have been slightly obsessed with Madeline Shaw (if you haven't heard of her she's a celebrity nutritionist who's absolutely beautiful inside and out). So we'd seen she was running an array of events from cooking classes to yoga and we were keen to go and meet with her to see how she achieves her glow!

Last Friday we attended her Yoga Babes event with Shona Vertue, who we are also in awe of, and we absolutely loved it!

Here are some pics of the day:

The last pic is of our brunch we received after the yoga sesh which was so delicious and perfect for refuelling for the day - I would definitely recommend going along to one of Madeline's events if you're after a bit of inspiration or just a bit of fun!

The event finished by 1pm so Monk and I headed back to Kingston where I showed her what I get up to in my daily affairs, we stopped off for a gorgeous coffee at Hands Coffee Co which is my favourite coffee shop in Kingston - if you're ever around Kingston you must go and try, they do a cracking hot chocolate also!

For the evening we headed to Whisky Mist, a club in Mayfair where we celebrated our reunion over a few drinks! Here's a pic of the Monk and I pre and post drinks... we may have gotten slightly tipsy.

Hope you enjoyed this post! We will try our best to start making them more regular again! Happy Sunday x X x

WHEN THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS FRIGHTFUL

We're suddenly seeing a drop in temperature and coats and scarves are becoming an essential, I'm a total jumper lover and have been on a bit of a haul when it comes to them recently so I thought I'd do a little post to show you what I got.

My most recent buy is this gorgeous camel coloured fluffy knit from Topshop. I have this in a couple of other colours and just think its perfect to throw on with a pair of jeans for ultimate winter comfort. The necklace in the picture is also a Topshop piece and I thought it went lovely with the jumper. I got this at an absolute bargain from £30 down to £15 on a half price promo! Not forgetting student discount ;)

Next up is this gorgeous roll neck, again from Topshop. In fact the picture doesn't do it justice, its a perfect fit and is so cosy for those wintery days. This comes in a variety of colours - I really wanted them all however I chose this as I thought it was nice and Christmassy!!

I'm loving pastel colours ATM and I thought this H&M piece was an absolute bargain at just £14.99! I chose the duck egg blue, but again this comes in a variety of colours and is a lovely baggy style fit which you can layer up for ultimate warmth. H&M is so great for bargain basics, don't you think?!

As many of you probably aready know, I have some good news..... I passed my driving test. WOOOO. As a 'well done' gift my Auntie treated me to this lovely cropped style furry jumper which is so versatile and goes with pretty much everything! Believe it or not this is actually a piece from Tesco! Ha, not just great for your baked beans! ;)

Last but by no means least, I got this beautiful shell pink ribbed high neck from Newlook when they had their 25% of knitwear. I actually wore this on the day of my driving test and passed so I know class this as my lucky jumper, ha! Newlook actually have lots of lovely knitwear in currently so if you're looking for a nice, cheap knit that's the place to go! Also this piece is sooooo soft unlike some knitwear which can be uber itchy.

Holding my certificate, excuse the windsweptness!

UMM

As I was googling our page this afternoon I came across a video that I hope will brighten up your gloomy Wednesday!

I wasn't really sure whether to laugh or cry but you can decide for yourselves....

I'm back on the IOW this week and I am absolutely loving catching up with my friends and fammo! It seems all I've been doing is indulging on yummy foods... no change there. Yesterday I caught up with Flo for lunch! It was BOGOF on main meals at Table Table, Newport so we took advantage! I went for the chicken and leek pie whilst Flo stuck to the classic burger. Equally delish.
As we got an utter bargain, it would've been silly to not dive in a dessert so we crumbled at the temptation of a rocky road sundae!
Yup, it tasted as good as it looks.

Today, Crystal and I tried the new christmas themed toffee nut latte today at Starbucks, if you haven't tried already - please do, not to mention their rocky road slice mmmmm heaven in a bite.

Oooo and I've had my braces off. YIPPEEE

It's safe to say I'm in a total food coma and I'm sure you're all drooling at your desks!
Home sweet home

CENTERPARCS

I was lucky enough to experience Centerparcs and I can offically say I have caught the 'Centerparcs bug' and I can totally see what the hype is about! It is truly amazing and the most fun I have had in a LONG time! I know I'm pretty late with the whole Centerparcs vibe but I'm sure loads of you can relate if you have been!

Through school I was never a sports fan and anything fitness related really did turn my stomach so I could never imagine Centerparcs being my thing and whenever I heard good things about Centerparcs I let it go over my head however I have somehow changed and the idea of cycling around all week amongst other sports related activities literally excites the hell out of me! (Mainly the thought of being able to eat copious amounts of food and not feel massively guilty! Although, I'm pretty sure I ate over 10x my body weight). Hey ho, it's Monday tomorrow. New day and all that.

When we arrived we went straight to the Cycle Centre and picked up our rides for the week.

HAHA. Yes, we did get a tandem! (After a day of having normal bikes, I realised bike riding seriously isn't my forte and I could only picture myself with two broken legs and no front teeth). So after a little bit of persuasion Oli agreed that we could get a tandem. Who knew going up hills would be so easy?! ;)

Segwaying was defintely one of my highlights of the week! Imagine riding to work on one of these?!

Closely followed by our spa day and afternoon tea!

This was my first ever Spa day at Aqua Sana and it most definitely did not disappoint! The Turkish Saunas and the beautiful scenery around the swimming pools were breath-taking!

Our Afternoon Tea was incredible and it included warm scones (mmm, making me seriously hungry!), a selection of sandwiches, a macaron, lemon drizzle cake and a tiramisu! Accompanied by a peppermint tea!

Not forgetting our full body massages (I'd like one every day, please!) and shellac treatments. I felt like a princess!

The Pancake House!
Pretty sure this picture speaks for itself... Amazing.
This was actually Oli's pancake (jealous). Mine didn't look quite as good!

Not forgetting the most amazing salad and dessert at CafĂ© Rouge!

Paysanne Salad followed by Chocolate and banana torté with salted caramel ice cream. (It tasted even better than it looks)

I'm sorry if this post bored you slightly but I just thought I'd share with you all what I've been up to this past week and to let you all know how amazing Centerparcs really is! I hope you all had a fab half term and a happy halloween! Now back to reality!

20% OFF

Student discount is a total life saver- with 10% off in most high street stores the choice between spending £45 instead of £50 seems far more appealing. But when 20% hits the town it's time to get ya bargains!

So Kingston town had a student event in the Bentall Centre (the shopping mall) and most high street stores - Topshop, River Island, Miss Selfridge etc. My student loan had just come in meaning my bank account was looking healthier than ever meaning the urge to splurge was at it's peak!

My friends 21st was coming up so I needed a partayy outfit! I found a gorgeous pair of black laced shorts from Topshop, and a nice little cream crop to team it with... Here's the final result

I've also had my eye on a beauttttiful pair of brogues for a while now and since there was 20% off I figured I'd treat myself! Also from Topshop!

I absolutely adore my Miss Selfridge jumpsuit which also had student discount! The floral pattern is SOOO pretty ☺️

                          #SELFIE

Another little purchase was a simple grey dress from Topshop - it was an absolute bargain and I thought would go perfectly with some black tights, a little belt, some chunky boots and a leather jacket!

Penultimately, a gorgeous white skirt from River Island! Perfect for a night out in the town!

And last but by no means least... Thigh high boots! I'm in love.

WORRYING IS POINTLESS

'It's not fair.'
'I don't understand.'
'Why do bad things happen to good people?'

We’ve all got this ridiculous obsession of putting on a brave face. Forever telling people ‘we’re okay’, ‘we’re fine’… Because you know, we aren’t fine. Probably not even close. In the short term we take the easy way out by painting on a smile and pretending we’re on top of the world. We’re all victims of this. Why is it ok to set ourselves back and to cause ourselves more emotional damage than we’ve already got? We end up running away from our troubles until they come back and haunt us. Most of the time it’s when we’re in bed and it eventually turns in to crying ourselves to sleep.
Life is a continuous roller coaster. It goes up and then it goes down, repeatedly. (For me anyway, but I’m pretty sure it happens to us all).
We have to deal with some kind of tragedy day in, day out. Whether it be having a flat tyre, forgetting our lunch or most tragically dealing with the loss of a loved one. We all go through it. Yet we all have our individual ways of dealing with the outcome of the situation.
We find ourselves asking questions... Shouting questions... Sometimes even screaming them. Waiting for an answer to be given to us. 'WHY?', 'WHY ME?'. No one knows. Life is an amazing thing yet so incredibly confusing. We're all put on this Earth and given life yet no one really knows any reasons as to why. We're left to deal with the shit that is thrown at us with no explanation or idea as to why it's even happened. You hear these things on the news, but seriously. Me?
Plane crashes, car crashes, illnesses?
In reality life is all about timings. Wrong place wrong time kinda thing… The invention of a time machine would be the answer to it all but unfortunately my non-scientific brain cannot successfully think of a fully functioning invention, as much as it pains me to say. Each morning I wake up in hope that I have developed some bewitching powers and somehow managed to change the world… But no, still hoping and wishing that that day will come!
How do we cope with the anger, frustration, sadness, confusion and all the other emotions that we're left with?
When bad things happen we’re sure to go through every emotion known to man, even emotions we didn't even know existed! We end up on a road to oblivion with no knowledge on what way to turn. Feeling like we’re on our own. But turns out this is normal. Truth is our questions are forever going to be unanswered. The answer is whatever we want them to be. Stay positive... Everything happens for a reason, right?
Its okay not to be okay. It’s SO okay!

The feeling of worrying and being alone is probably one of the most stressful and frustrating emotions. Yet the most pointless of them all!

Life is still yet to make sense to me. All I know for sure is that laughing, being with people you love, having manners and wearing nice clothes is all that really matters!
